The studio is located in a former storage space on the ground floor of a residential building from the 1950s in Sofia’s city center. The renovation concept proposed by CONVEYER was to transform it into a comfortable “urban caravan” situated in the heart of the city. The design solution is based on two key characteristics of the existing space: its distinctive, strongly elongated shape and proportions, and the historical ambiance of the building.
CONVEYER’s proposal involves inserting the old part - the main living area - between two contemporary-treated longitudinal walls. In this way, the studio’s tubular character is emphasized and enhanced. This contrasting combination of old and new gives the space a unique character. Discreetly positioned bathroom and kitchenette free up space for a dining area and a day-night living zone with a pull-out sofa, oriented towards the wall-mounted television and the interior courtyard. The studio has a total area of 33sq.m.
