Angel Savlakov
Angel Savlakov co-founded conveyer together with Ivan Dragoshinski and Ivaylo Andreev in 2007. He graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia in 2001 with an Award for Designing Accessible Environment for People with Disabilities. In 2003 he graduated with a Masters degree from the department of "Urban Planning" at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia.
Between 2001 and 2005 Angel worked in the architecture studios of ‘Simeon Borisov Architects’ and ‘+architecture’. During this period he participated in projects of various types and scale. Some of these include: competition for a new building of the City gallery in Sofia, a 50 000 sq m competition design scheme for Millenium Business Center in Sofia, a 11 000 sq m office building for Soravia – Bulgaria, and feasibility study and preliminary design for a mixed use complex in Bucharest-Metroplis Center completed in 2008. Between 2005 and 2007 Angel Savlakov was а freelance architect and collaborated with Ivan Dragoshinski, and for a short period with ‘Archa Studio’ and ‘OBI Architects’ on several projects: a 25 000 sq m residential complex in Bansko village, a feasibility study for a 10 000sq m refurbishment of an ex communist hotel complex in Varna, and an 8 000 sq m office building in Sofia.
Since 2010 Angel is teaching Architecture in New Bulgarian University, Sofia. His interests are focused in the exploration of the relationship between architecture and sculpture, theory of creation of form in space, and emerging building technologies.
