Villa in Madzhare is located at the edge of the picturesque village of Madzhare, at the foothills of northwestern Rila. The house is situated on a steep hillside, offering expansive views towards the village and the valley. The concept is based on a composition of vertical “blades” clad in grey clinker brick, positioned between two dark horizontal slabs. The geometry follows the natural slope of the terrain, while the different levels are organized according to orientation, views, and patterns of use.
The upper floor is the main living space for the family. The blades are oriented north–south, with the rooms opening to the south towards a sunny, levelled garden and to the north towards views of the village and valley. This is the more active and social part of the villa, intended for more frequent use.The lower level is more intimate and is primarily intended for guests. The blades are oriented east–west, forming two covered parking spaces to the east, while the bedrooms open to the west towards a secluded garden. The level is partially embedded into the hillside, reducing the visual presence of the building.
The green roof completes the concept, allowing the building to blend into the landscape—as if it naturally emerges from the hillside. The total floor area is 280 sq.m.
