In 2007 conveyer’s team began work on the adaptation of an existing project by a foreign company for a compact /25mx116m/ production plant near Sofia. The building contains manufacturing, warehousing and office spaces. The chosen construction system consisted of a metal frame spanning 25 meters, providing free of internal supports space.
After analyzing the base project, conveyer offered the client to keep the manufacturing area that was following the construction technology, but to re-design the office area in order to transform it into a contemporary, modern office space. The office area was an open-plan space with zones for recreation and a meeting room. The facades of the building were re-designed as well.
In 2008, at the request of the client the metal structure was replaced by a system of precast concrete structure produced by the nearby company Europrefabricate. conveyer’s team used the change in the construction system to create a new vision for the façade sheets, consistent with the limited budget for implementation. Using two colors of metal panels, the facades were organized as a rhythm of repeating elements, creating a memorable character of the building. This transformed the building into an easily recognizable symbol – an emblem of ‘AYLA’ company.
