T-house is a two-family residential house that aims at changing the typology of a “twin” house. The party wall, typical for a traditional “twin” house, here is replaced by a passage space that gives access to the central entrances and backyard of the house.
The building’s volume is constituted of four basic elements, grouped around the passage space. The two elements on the first level contain the living space, the garages and the service spaces of the house. The other two elements on the second level contain the bedrooms of the house. The difference between the living spaces and the bedroom spaces is highlighted with contrasting materials – dark shielding from eternit panels for the elements on the first level and light plaster for the elements of the second level. The living space of the house is facing south and has a direct connection with the backyard. The garages and service spaces are situated on the north, facing the backstreet. The bedroom spaces of the house contain the nurseries that have wide, covered terraces facing south and the nice views of the surroundings. The parental bedrooms are studios, organized around internal courtyards – patios.
The volume on the third level is a container, covered with wood, with spaces for sport and recreation.
